MUNNYCAT - follow the leader - Official Music Video
Directed by Khaled Tabbara and Jenna Pace Cinematography by Khaled Tabbara and Jenna Pace Concept by Khaled and Katianne Tabbara Produced by MUNNYCAT, YoBro Productions and Tabbara Productions Edit by Khaledzou and K808 of MUNNYCAT Color by Khaledzou Lighting and Production Assistance by Scott Terry and Alex Hammoudi Special Thanks to The Wolf's Den, bboy fantum, John Jeffrey, The Glass Slipper, Brad And Sanna, Siren's Call PR, KJ Alfrey, Brooklyn Wallace, Makena Moore, Scott Terry and Alex Hammoudi. We truly could not have pulled this off without so many talented friends. We are just giddy with gratitude at the fact that we get to make art with our besties. What a life =) About MUNNYCAT Their music (RIYL: Santigold, Rosalía, Tierra Whack, Charli XCX) is firmly rooted in modern indie-pop, and is in the ‘Escape Room’ genre according to the mysterious algorithm gods at spotify. It has been called “hyperpop on Lexapro”, with the press referencing MUNNYCAT’s obsession with East Coast proto hip-hop and 80’s art pop. MUNNYCAT is, in its totality, a two-person project made up of producers K808 and Khaledzou. Originally from the infamously corrupt and troubled rust-belt city of Youngstown, OH where they learned so much of the self-reliance and individualism that makes them creatively distinct, they now live in sunny Los Angeles creating art side by side. The newlyweds write, produce, shoot and edit their own videos together, lending new meaning to the phrase 'dynamic duo.' PRESS QUOTES: “so catchy it might eat you alive” - The Line of Best Fit "Eclectic yet infectious...The production shines bright." - New Noise "An easy bop with a nonchalant attitude that also just happens to be fully fleshed out." - Earmilk “Los Angeles noise-pop purveyors MUNNYCAT are back at it with another genre-fluid feat of sound… quite possibly the perfect blend of in-your-face attitude and melodic fun.” - Digital High “Yes, put this on repeat” - Aupium “…unburdened and free from the current wash of cookie-cutter pop”. - America Pancake “swirling and intricate pop production” - The Line of Best Fit “a creative force of nature that deserves your attention” - Rock And Roll Globe “Sound the instant fan alarm!” - EQ “driving and exhilarating” - AAA Backstage “a banger and will surely be a TikTok dance craze” - Trend & Chaos “good goddamn, if this isn’t some catchy shit.” - A Journal of Musical Things “they deliver iconic music - an unrelenting attack on half-assedness.” - LeFutureWave
